What SE Ranking is, in one paragraph
SE Ranking is an all-in-one SEO platform built around a rank tracker. Around that core it has keyword research, competitor research, a backlink checker, a website audit, local SEO tools, content tools, reporting and, since 2025, AI search tracking. It started as a rank tracker and it still shows: tracking limits are generous and reports are easy to send to clients. The company has been around since 2013 and sells to freelancers, agencies and in-house teams.
This review is based on SE Ranking's own pricing page, help docs and plan limits as published on October 2026, read side by side with Semrush, Ahrefs and Mangools. We point out where we're quoting the vendor and where we're giving our opinion.
SE Ranking pricing in 2026
SE Ranking simplified its plans in 2025. The old Essential, Pro and Business tiers are gone. Here's what the official subscription page lists now:
| Plan | Monthly | Billed annually | Projects | Tracked keywords (daily) | Seats | Audit pages/mo | Link |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Our pickCore | $129 | $103.20/mo | 10 | 2,000 | 1 manager | 250,000 | Try Core |
| Growth | $279 | $223.20/mo | 30 | 5,000 | 3 | 2,000,000 | Try Growth |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Contact SE Ranking |
| Free trial | $0 for 14 days | n/a | 10 | 750 | 1 | Trial limits | Start trial |
Annual billing takes 20% off. That's the number to look at if you plan to stay a year: Core works out to $1,238.40 a year instead of $1,548.

Add-ons that change the bill
- Agency Pack: +$69/mo, annual plans only. You get 30 projects, 30 client seats, white-label reports, unlimited scheduled reports with AI summaries, the Agency Catalog listing and a Lead Generator widget for your site.
- API add-on: $45/mo billed annually ($48 monthly) for 3 million credits. Core already includes 25,000 API credits and MCP access, Growth 100,000.
- SE Visible: a separate AI visibility product from $71/mo with 75 prompts. More on that below.
- Standalone API: from $179/mo if you only want the data.
What you get on Core
Core is the plan most people will buy, so it deserves the closest look.
- Rank tracking: 2,000 keywords checked every day across 10 projects. You can track Google desktop and mobile, by country, city or ZIP code, and watch SERP features.
- Keyword research: unlimited lookups, with volume, difficulty, CPC and related keywords.
- Competitor research: unlimited. See a domain's organic and paid keywords, top pages and traffic estimates.
- Backlinks: unlimited backlink checks, plus a backlink monitor for your own links.
- Website audit: 250,000 audited pages a month, which is plenty for a handful of small and mid-size sites.
- Local and content marketing: included on Core according to the pricing page, so you don't pay extra for local listings checks or the content editor at this tier.
- AI visibility: 25 prompts a day across 5 AI engines. It's a taste of AI tracking, enough to see whether ChatGPT or AI Overviews mention your brand for your main questions.
- Integrations: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Looker Studio (Data Studio) and Matomo.
The one limit that bites is seats. Core has a single manager seat. If two people need their own logins, you're looking at Growth or the Agency Pack.
What Growth adds
Growth ($279/mo, $223.20 annually) is for teams and growing agencies. It triples projects to 30, raises tracking to 5,000 keywords a day, gives you 3 seats and 2 million audited pages a month. It also unlocks historical data, guest-post link opportunities, page change monitoring, a dedicated support contact and onboarding.
Is it worth the jump? If you need more than one login or more than 10 projects, usually yes. If you're a solo consultant with a few clients, Core plus the Agency Pack can be the cheaper route to white-label reports.
The free trial and refund policy
The trial runs for 14 days and needs no card. You get 10 projects, 750 tracked keywords a day and 20 AI prompts a day. That's enough to run a real test: set up two or three sites, import your keyword list and watch the daily updates for a week.
Read the refund rule before you buy. SE Ranking says payments are non-refundable, except where the service wasn't delivered as promised. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. In practice that means the trial is your refund window, so use it.
Where SE Ranking is strong
Value for rank tracking. This is the headline. 2,000 daily keywords on the entry plan is four times what Semrush gives on its $139 plan and more than double Ahrefs Lite (750). If your daily work starts with "where do we rank today", SE Ranking gives you more of that for less.
Unlimited research on Core. Keyword, competitor and backlink lookups aren't capped on Core. You won't hit the credit anxiety that Ahrefs Lite users complain about.
Agency-friendly reporting. Scheduled reports, white label and client seats are cheap compared with rivals. The Agency Pack at $69/mo is one of the lowest-cost white-label options among the big suites.
AI tracking on the base plan. Semrush puts AI prompt tracking on its $199 Starter tier. SE Ranking includes a small allowance on Core, and offers SE Visible for heavier use.
Easy migration. You can import projects and ranking history from other tools, and annual plans include free assisted migration.
Where SE Ranking falls short
Smaller databases than the leaders. Semrush and Ahrefs have bigger keyword and backlink indexes. For a small or mid-size site you may never notice. For competitive niches and big international sites, you might.
PPC and market research are thinner. If Google Ads research or traffic analytics is a big part of your job, Semrush is still the stronger tool.
One seat on Core. Fine for a freelancer, awkward for any team.
No refunds. Not unusual in this market (Ahrefs is similar), but it means you should test before paying.
SE Ranking vs Semrush, Ahrefs and Mangools
| Item | SE Ranking Core | Semrush SEO | Ahrefs Lite | Mangools Basic |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $129 | $139 | $129 | about $61 ($37.70 annually) |
| Tracked keywords | 2,000 daily | 500 daily | 750 | 200, weekly updates |
| Projects / sites | 10 | 5 | 5 non-verified, unlimited verified | Unlimited domains |
| Research limits | Unlimited | Report limits per plan | Credit-based on Lite | 100 lookups per 24h |
| AI search tracking | 25 prompts/day, 5 engines | From the $199 Starter tier | 150 prompt checks | AI Search Watcher included |
| Trial | 14 days, no card | 7 days | No trial | Free account, 48h money-back |

Our take: Semrush wins on depth and breadth, Ahrefs on backlinks, Mangools on simplicity. SE Ranking wins on how much you get per dollar. We go deeper in SE Ranking vs Semrush and Semrush vs Ahrefs.
SE Visible: the AI tracking add-on
SE Visible is SE Ranking's separate product for AI search. It tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews mention your brand, starting from $71/mo with 75 prompts and a 10-day trial. If the 25 prompts in Core feel tight, this is the next step. We compare it with Otterly, Peec and others in our AI visibility tools guide.
Who SE Ranking is for, and who should skip it
Good fit:
- Freelancers and consultants who track several client sites
- Small agencies that want white-label reports without a big bill
- Small businesses that need rank tracking, audits and keyword ideas in one place
- Anyone moving off Semrush or Ahrefs because of price (see our Semrush alternatives list)
Probably not for you:
- PPC specialists who need deep ad intelligence
- Enterprise teams that need the largest possible data sets
- Bloggers with one site and a tiny budget, who may be happier with a cheaper tool from our cheap SEO tools guide
If rank tracking is the only thing you need, our best rank tracker comparison shows how SE Ranking stacks up against dedicated trackers like Nightwatch, Wincher and AccuRanker.
How to get the most from the trial
- Add your main site and two competitors on day one, so the tracker has a week of data by the end.
- Import 300 to 500 real keywords, not a demo list. Use your Search Console queries.
- Run a full website audit and check whether the issues match what you already know about the site.
- Pull a backlink report for one competitor and compare it with what you see in Ahrefs Free or Search Console.
- Set up a scheduled report and send it to yourself. That's what your clients or boss will see.
- Decide before day 14. There's no refund later.
How we reviewed SE Ranking
We read SE Ranking's pricing page, plan comparison and help docs on October 2026 and recorded every limit in this review from those pages. We then put those limits next to the official pricing pages of Semrush, Ahrefs and Mangools on the same day. We didn't run a long hands-on test for this review, so we haven't scored data accuracy, and we don't quote speed or accuracy numbers we can't back up.
We earn a commission if you buy SE Ranking or SE Visible through our links. That doesn't change what's in the tables: every number comes from the vendor pages. Read more in our editorial policy.

The verdict
SE Ranking isn't the biggest SEO suite, and it doesn't try to be. It's the one that gives a small team the most tracked keywords, projects and research per dollar, with AI tracking on the base plan and cheap white label for agencies. If that matches how you work, start the trial, load real data, and decide inside the 14 days.
